Hi, I’m Aaron Smalls! That’s Smalls like Biggie, or A-A-Ron like in the Key and Peele sketch. And you are? Well now that you’ve talked to your phone or computer, and we’ve been indirectly introduced…I have some questions.
What made you start reading this blog?
Are you interested in becoming a Master of Ceremonies or a Host (And I’m not talking about the internet or the person that seats you at a restaurant) ? Do the words “public speaking” give you such anxiety that a chill runs down your spine, and “Oh, no, no, not me!” resolutely escapes your lips?
Do you feel like your personal brand is stuck in a routine and your communication, creativity, and confidence need to be energized?
Or maybe you experience fear-based limiting beliefs like ‘I’m not good enough’ or ‘I could never do that’ or ‘Why would anyone listen to me?’. Does any of this sound familiar or like thoughts that creep around in your mind?
I’m no Eleven (Yes, that’s a Stranger Things reference), but I can I hear what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, how is he in my head like this? Have we met before? Did I reveal this info when we did meet? No, no you didn’t. But, to some degree we’ve all experienced these feelings or had these thoughts. “You talkin’ to me? You talkin’ to me?!” (Name that movie.) Yes, I’m just as much talking to you as I have, am, and continue to talk to myself about mindset and limiting beliefs.
Whether you’re a marketing expert giving a presentation, or you’re an event planner looking to reimagine what a client experience can be or you’re a business leader who wants to build stronger, more authentic relationships with your employees and clients, this blog is for you.
I’m going to write about public speaking and communication, personal branding, reframing our mindset, and reconnecting with our youthful energy. Something I call and will explain in a later blog: The Charismatic Advantage™.
Now, I don’t know all the answers. I’m still learning and growing too. But what I have learned and want to share are similar traits of successful people, brands, and companies. Entities who have faced “mountains” just like you. Those who have ascended and relished in the peaks and those who have slid into and learned from the failures and defeats of the valleys. Success and personal growth don’t just happen. They are a journey that must be worked toward and appreciated continuously.

I encourage you to learn not just from me, but from any and everyone and do your own research to verify the credibility and validity of said information. What I’m going to share with you doesn’t guarantee you a job, or provide a yellow brick road to success, but hopefully it will empower you and inspire you to…be inspired…every single day.
Thank you for taking the time to read this initial blog entry. I appreciate you and can’t wait to share more with you and connect more directly.
